Enrolling in EUSD benefits as a new hire - The completed benefit enrollment forms needs to be submitted on or before the last day of the month to be effective on the first of the next month; you have 30 days from your hire date to enroll qualifying dependents.
Open enrollment is the period of time when an active employee can make changes to their health insurance provider for the next calendar year. Open enrollment is typically held for the next calendar year in late August/early September. Employees can only add coverage mid-year if they have a qualifying event (loss of insurance, marriage, birth or adoption of child). Employees are paid once a month at the end of the month. Any changes to benefits must be submitted on or before the 15th day of the prior month to be effective the first of the next month. Anything received after the 15th day will be processed the following month. You have 30 days from the date of the qualifying event to enroll.

WORKPLACE VIOLENCE PREVENTION PLAN
As a result of California Senate Bill 553 (SB 553), all employers that fall within the scope of California Labor Code (LC) 6401.7 and LC 6401.9 are required to establish, implement, and maintain an effective, written Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP). Here is our WVPP, which outlines four identified types of violence against an employee, per SB 553.
Per this Senate Bill, the employer shall record information about workplace violence threats, incidents, and post-incident responses that meet the definition of workplace violence, per SB 553. Findings will be recorded by site managers on the WVPP reporting form.
Physical copies are also available in the Human Resources Department and each school's main office per regulation.
