Welcome to the Emery Unified
Curriculum and Instruction page!
The Emery Unified School District (EUSD) offers balanced and engaging instructional program, serving students from Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade. The district curricula are aligned with the CA Common Core State Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards. The EUSD programs promote inquiry-based, hands-on, cognitively demanding and differentiated approach to instruction.

The district strives to create rich and nurturing learning environment that supports and challenges all students to realize their full potential, develop a love of learning, acquire strong foundational base, and attain higher-order thinking skills.
The EUSD is committed to educating the whole child. The curriculum and instruction are designed to
support each student for intellectual, emotional, social, physical, ethical, and aesthetical growth. We
inspire all children to become active, engaged learners. Standards, curriculum, and assessment shape the learning experience for all students in our district.
Among the many CA Standards-based instructional programs implemented in the district are Reach for Reading! from National Geographic (grades TK-5), Eureka Math (TK-12), Expository Reading and Writing Curriculum (ERWC) - grades 6-12, Lucy Calkin’s Units of Study (gr. K-8), STEMScopes in grades 6-12, and Biological Sciences Curriculum Study (BSCS) integrated pathway at high school.
The district allocates a computer device for every student to promote the inter-disciplinary use of
technology as a tool for deeper and richer learning. Technology tools and resources are integral to the instructional and assessment processes in order to help all students achieve. In addition, EUSD offers coding instruction at elementary, middle school, and high school levels.
EUSD provides targeted differentiated support for students through a variety of venues, such as
differentiation block, after-school intervention program, and the Homework Club.
In addition to the core subjects, each student in the district receives instruction in art and music. The
EUSD middle school and high school students participate in a band, while elementary students receive vocal instruction.
Emery Secondary School offers a variety of Advanced Placement (AP) courses, such as AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP Chemistry, AP Language and Composition, AP Government, and AP Computer Science.
Teachers and administrators continually evaluate instructional strategies and student achievement data to ensure all students receive instruction that is academically and developmentally challenging.
Family engagement and participation in instructional planning is very important for the district. All the parents and guardians are welcome to participate in the work of the parent committees and share their feedback about the current and future goals for the district.
